ERCP (Endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography)

It is a useful techniquefor the study and most of all the treatment biliary tract and pancreas diesaeses. Via endoscope will reach the outlet opening of the bile and pancreatic duodenum (papilla) conducts and inject a liquid contrast to X-rays. This can show existing lesions and the need for treatment during the same procedure. 

The procedura is done under sedation. In some cases general anesthesia may be needed. It is ussually performed on a short hospital stay. This is intended to ensure proper preparation and control to maximize their safety after procedure.
